Anne Secord
B.S.W., M.Ed., R.S.W.
Anne is a registered Social Worker with over twenty years counselling experience with individuals, couples and families. Prior to her role as Consultant and Counsellor with Source Line, she was employed as a clinical manager of a children's mental health program providing service to families and children in the Toronto area. She has a Bachelor's of Social Work from Ryerson University and a Master's of Education from University of Toronto (Adult Education and Counselling Psychology) with a specialization in Organizational Learning and Theory.
As a manager, Anne understands the importance of good leadership and team building. She is experienced in facilitating and maintaining healthy employee-employer relationships and knows that a healthy workplace means greater job satisfaction and overall higher performance for the organization.
As a counselor, her interests include working with anxiety and depression, self-esteem and relationship issues, women's issues including life events such as post partum, child-rearing and eldercare. She appreciates the challenges of maintaining work-life balance in today's fast paced world and believes that counselling can make a difference. She has training in Systemic Family Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (adults and children) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction practices.
Over the years she has presented numerous workshops on family life issues at venues that include workplace settings, community organizations and Hospital for Sick Children Child Psychiatry Day. She has been published in IMPRINT, a journal of Infant Mental Health Promotion.
