SOURCE LINE – The Approach to Successful Adult Learning Interventions
Work with adult learners has demonstrated that the willingness to develop new skills exists when the following situations prevail:
- learners understand why they should learn something new;
- the trainer understands, reflects and respects their prior knowledge and experience;
- the training directly and positively impacts on their everyday life or tasks; and
- the training provides solutions.
All training seminars offered respond to these requirements. Programs are participatory, experiential and interactive.
Discussion and problem solving are encouraged. A combination of group and individual activities promotes learning, reflection and change.
A thorough Learning Needs Assessment is recommended as it ensures that any organizational intervention or training service provided is tailored to meet each client's specific needs.
